Metal Color is the innovative range of metallic colours with a water-based formulation, which uses aluminium pigments in its preparation. The Metal Color range offers a wide range of shades in order to imitate the metallic finish of aircraft of any type and period. With exceptional shine and extraordinary reflecting power, it allows the modeller to carry out all painting processes without having to resort to enamels and lacquers. It can be applied directly with an airbrush on the model, or diluted with our Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver. Metal Color dries very quickly, respecting the smallest detail present in the model, forming a homogeneous and self-levelling film of extraordinary resistance within a few hours after its application. Metal Color can be tinted directly in the airbrush cup using colours from the Model Air or Game Air ranges. It can also be used with a brush. The recommended compressor settings for our colours are around 15 – 20 Psi or 0.5 to 1 kg. For model aircraft fuselages and components, it is advisable to apply Gloss Black Primer to enhance the special characteristics of the aluminium tones. This is available in 60 ml/2.02 fl oz (Ref. 73.660) and 200 ml/6.76 fl oz (Ref. 74.660) bottles with a hinged cap and dropper. Metal Color dries very quickly, but it is advisable to wait 12 hours after application before proceeding with the masking process. Gloss Metal Clear is also available in 60 ml/2.02 fl oz (Ref. 26.657) bottles with a hinged cap and dropper. For proper airbrush maintenance, we recommend using Vallejo Airbrush Cleaner.
